Local Crime from 17th District 5-3-14
A MAN WAS SHOT at about 2 a.m. Sunday, April 27, in the 4700 block of North Drake Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 20-year-old man reported that two men got out of a car and that one of them shot him in the left shin, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 5 a.m. Friday, April 25, in the 4100 block of North Bernard Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 23-year-old man reported that two men approached him and that one of them displayed a handgun, took an unreported amount of money from him and shot at his car, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked and robbed at about 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 27, in the 3100 block of West Wilson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 32-year-old man reported that a van stopped and two women got out of the vehicle and began yelling at him, and that two men then got out of the vehicle and attacked him, according to police. The man said that one of the men struck him with a baseball bat and that the two took $400 from his pocket, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6000 block of North Kostner Avenue was burglarized between 9 a.m. Sunday, April 20, and 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was broken in and that $40,000 worth of jewelry was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3900 block of North Kostner Avenue was burglarized between 7:45 and 9:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was open and that two tablet computers, a laptop computer and jewelry valued at a total of $2,000 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4300 block of West Belmont Avenue was burglarized between 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27, and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that side windows were open and that a designer watch valued at $500, a 42-inch television set valued at $300 and a game console valued at $200 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4100 block of North Whipple Street was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a hole had been punched through the front door and that two game consoles, miscellaneous jewelry and $6,700 in cash were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3700 block of West Pratt Avenue was burglarized between 6 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. Thursday, April 24, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the back door lock was broken and that two necklaces, four bracelets, a pair of earrings, five airline tickets to Morocco and $10,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN WAS charged with possession of a controlled substance following his arrest at about 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, in the 3900 block of West Howard Street, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a car that had a broken tail light, and the driver was arrested after the officer discovered a coffee container in the car that contained 33 grams of a substance suspected of being marijuana, according to police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Wilfredo Aguilera Jr. age 21, of the 4900 block of North Monticello Avenue.
A WOMAN WAS arrested at about 1:40 p.m. Thursday, April 24, after she allegedly shoplifted an item from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that she saw the woman place a bracelet valued at $60 in her bag and leave the store without paying for it, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Adriana Moreno-Tapia, age 35, of the 6000 block of North Claremont Avenue.
THREE WOMEN were arrested at about 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, after they allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the women place merchandise in a stroller and leave the store without paying for the items valued at a total of $385, according to police.
The suspects were identified by police as Norma Alcantar-Sorai, age 35, Salena Alcantar-Sorai, age 18, and Terresa Alcantar-Sorai, age 20, of the 5200 block of North Kedzie Avenue.
