Local Crime from 17th District 5-31-14
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 2:20 a.m. Sunday, May 25, in the 4200 block of North Troy Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 43-year-old woman reported that car after she drove her car into her garage, two men approached her and that one of them displayed a handgun and the other man took her purse containing credit cards, her cell phone and $100 in cash, according to police.
A TEENAGER reported that he was robbed at about 7:40 p.m. Saturday, May 24, in the 3600 block of North Christiana Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 14-year-old teen reported that as he was riding his bicycle, a group of youths offered to purchase the bike for $65, and that when he refused, one of them punched him in the face and took the bike, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 9 p.m. Saturday, May 24, in the 3200 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 42-year-old man reported that as he was waiting for a bus, two men approached him and one of them pushed him to the ground and took $200 from him, according to police.
A TEENAGER reported that he was robbed at about 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 26, in the 3500 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 16-year-old teen reported that a car stopped and three teenagers got out, asked him his gang affiliation, punched and kicked him and took his wallet containing $100, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4000 block of North Kildare Avenue was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 10:50 p.m. Friday, May 23, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a window was open and that $1,000 was missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4300 block of North Kimball Avenue was burglarized between 11 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Friday, May 23, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the apartment door was open and that two dressers, four items of clothing and toys were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue was burglarized between May 14 and 21, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear door had been forced open and that a cutting saw, two chains, a mini-motorcycle and two windows were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 3:20 a.m. Saturday, May 24, in the 6300 block of North Kildare Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
After an officer stopped a car that was being drive at 80 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone, the driver was arrested when the officer smelled the odor of alcohol on his breath and the man failed sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Michael C. Heideman, age 23, of the 6100 block of North Tripp Avenue.
A WOMAN WAS arrested at about 5:10 p.m. Thursday, May 22, after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the saw the woman place $124 worth of children’s clothing in a backpack and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Angelica F. Sermeno, age 20, of the 4300 block of North Austin Avenue.
TWO WOMEN were arrested at about 8:40 p.m. Thursday, May 22, after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the women conceal jewelry valued at $494 and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspects were identified by police as May S. Abdulmadhi, age 47, of the 6100 block of West Francisco Avenue, and Brooke N. Dawood, age 27, of the 2600 block of North Arthur Avenue.
