Local Crime from 16th District 6-22-2016
TWO MEN were shot at about 1 a.m. Sunday, June 19, in the 6000 block of West Addison Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The two men, age 24 and 29, reported that as they were walking they heard gunshots and one of them was shot in the hand and the other was shot in the groin, according to police. The men were taken to Community First Hospital by a relative, and the man who was shot in the groin was transferred to Illinois Masonic Hospital, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he saw someone fire a gun at a vehicle at about 6:20 p.m. Monday, June 20, in the 6200 block of West Waveland Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A man reported that he saw a man and a woman walking and that when a dark Audi slowed down near them, one of them fired three shots at the car and fled, according to police. Officers discovered three 9mm casings on the scene, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed in a domestic-related incident at about 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 17, at a home in the 5800 block of North Napoleon Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 58-year-old man reported that when he returned home his stepdaughter was waiting for him with a man and a woman and that the man punched him and knocked him to the floor and the two women stomped on his face and back and took his cell phone, his wallet containing $650 and his car keys, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 3:30 a.m. Monday, June 20, in his car in the 5600 block of West Sunnyside Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 39-year-old man reported that after he stopped behind a car at Central Avenue, a man got out of the vehicle, pulled him out of his car, punched him in the face and took his sunglasses valued at $100, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her ex-boyfriend robbed her and violated an order of protection that she filed against him at about 4:45 p.m. Monday, June 20, in the 5500 block of North Cumberland Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 30-year-old woman reported that as she was leaving her workplace, the man grabbed her by the arms and the face and took an envelope containing $600 in cash, according to police.
The woman reported that the same man attacked her and robbed her of $794 at gunpoint after she left her bank on June 3, police said.
A MAN WAS shot with a BB gun at about 8:10 p.m. Sunday, June 19, in the 3700 block of North Long Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 56-year-old man reported that a vehicle approached him and the driver shot him in the forearm and the right leg pointed a BB gun, causing bleeding, according to police. The man was treated at Community First Hospital, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18, in the 6800 block of North Sauganash Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A man reported that he discovered a man lying unconscious on the ground, and that once the 32-year-old man regained consciousness he said that a man "sucker punched" him, knocked him out and took his iPhone and $200 in cash from him, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at a home in the 8500 block of West Rasher Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 33-year-old man reported through a Polish translator that he was putting up tiles at a home and as he was cleaning up two men attacked him, knocked him to the ground, and took his cell phone and $80 in cash, according to police.
TWO MEN were arrested after they allegedly attacked a man with their vehicle at about 8 p.m. Monday, June 13, in the 3500 block of North Mobile Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 26-year-old man reported that he saw a car being driven erratically toward him and that after he pulled to the side of the street, the car stopped by him and two men shouted gang slogans and made a gesture implying that they had a gun, according to police. The man said that he fled and that the men chased him in their car and that they intentionally struck his vehicle in the 6200 block of West Addison Street, police said.
The man reported the he once again fled, and witnesses reported that they saw the men strike two parked vehicles on Addison, police said. One of the men suspects arrested in the 5900 block of West Henderson Street, and the other suspect was arrested in the 3400 block of North Marmora Avenue, according to police.
The suspects were identified by police as Marco A. Taviar, age 21, of the 2900 block of North Menard Avenue, and Richard Gutierrez, age 24, of the 5100 block of West Fletcher Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that a man pointed a gun at him at about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, in the 3800 block of North Laramie Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 24-year-old man reported that a truck containing two men stopped and the men asked his gang affiliation and one of them pointed a gun at him, according to police.
A COUPLE reported that their home in the 4800 block of North Rutherford Avenue was burglarized between 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday, June 18, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The couple reported that when they returned home they discovered that the front door had been forced open and that jewelry, digital video discs, video games and $2,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4000 block of North Leamington Avenue was burglarized between 9:20 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. Saturday, June 18, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front door was unlocked and that a camera valued at $250, a router, a surge protector and three bottles of perfume were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4300 block of West Melrose Street was burglarized between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the back door was open and that two television sets valued at $500, a diamond ring valued at $1,500, a watch, two gold chains valued at $1,000 and a laptop computer valued at $300 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that the garage of her home in the 5400 block of West Giddings Street was burglarized at about 10 p.m. Saturday, June 18, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she discovered that three bicycles and tools were missing, according to police.
A man reported that the garage of his home in the 5400 block of West Giddings Street was burglarized between 10:50 p.m. Saturday, June 18, and 10:50 a.m. the following day, according to police.
The man reported that he discovered that four bicycles valued at $2,232 were missing, according to police.
