Local Crime from 17th District 7-12-14
AN EMPLOYEE reported that the Marathon gas station, 3330 N. Kimball Ave., was robbed at about 7:55 p.m. Thursday, July 3, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 34-year-old employee reported that a man entered the station, displayed a handgun and took $283 from the cash register, according to police.
TWO MEN reported that they were robbed at gunpoint at about 12:35 a.m. Monday, July 7, in an alley in the 3500 block of North Keating Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The men, both age 20, reported that two men approached them after they parked their car and that one of them displayed a handgun and that the two took car keys and drove away in their car, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed in the 3600 block of West Addison Street at about 11:50 p.m. Monday, July 7, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 21-year-old woman reported that a man displayed a handgun approached her, pushed her and took her purse containing miscellaneous papers and identification, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly threatened a man with a knife at about 12:05 p.m. Saturday, July 5, in the 5100 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 44-year-old man reported that during an argument the man displayed a knife and threatened to kill him, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Ivan Lopez, age 35, of the 2500 block of West Winona Street.
A WOMAN reported that she was attacked at about 10:10 p.m. Sunday, July 6, in the 3300 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 22-year-old woman reported that while she was driving her car, the drivers of two vehicles chased her and began striking the rear bumper of her car, according to police. The woman said that she lost control of her car and struck a curb, and that the driver of one of the vehicles threw a fire hydrant cap through the rear window of her car, police said.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 6100 block of North Lawndale Avenue was burglarized between May 12 and June 15, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that her birth certificate, her marriage license and $660 were missing, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly broke into a home in the 3900 block of North Drake Avenue at about 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 7, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A couple reported that they saw the man in their kitchen before the man fled, and the suspect was found in the 3900 block of North Saint Louis Avenue and arrested, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as David P. Walker, age 56, of the 4600 block of North Hazel Street.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS arrested at about 5:50 p.m. Saturday, July 5, after he allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man place jeans and shirts valued at $340 into a backpack and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Kamal R. Sharma, age 21, of the 2600 block of West Devon Avenue.
A WOMAN was arrested at about 7:25 p.m. Saturday, July 5, after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that she saw the woman take $90 worth of clothing into a fitting room, place the items in a bag and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Wendy Valladares, age 21, of the 3500 block of West Medill Avenue.
A WOMAN was arrested between at about 4:40 p.m. Saturday, July 5, after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman place five jewelry items and a picture frame in a Carson Pirie Scott bag and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Belinda E. Baez, age 54, of the 2700 block of West Argyle Street.
A MAN WAS arrested at about 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, after he allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man place $44 worth of men’s underwear in a backpack in a fitting room and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Steven D. Angulo, age 20, of the 900 block of West Agatite Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed while he was leaving the Currency Exchange, 3310 W. Devon Ave., at about 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, according to Lincolnwood police.
The 71-year-old man reported that two men and a woman approached him, began patting his body and told him that there were spiders on him, according to police. The man said that when he realized that they took $800 from his pocket, they had already fled in a vehicle, police said.
