Local Crime from 17th District 7-2-2016
A MAN REPORTED that a man threatened him with a knife at about 2:20 p.m. Friday, June 24, at a home in the 4900 block of North Harding Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 33-year-old man reported that during an argument with a man who had been staying with him, the man pointed a knife at him and threatened to kill him, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that a woman threatened her with a knife at about 3:10 p.m. Saturday, June 25, in the 3700 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 45-year-old woman reported that after a woman sideswiped her sport utility vehicle, the woman got out of her car, threatened him with a knife, shouted obscenities and threw a cup of water at her car, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at about 1:25 a.m. Sunday, June 26, in the 4100 block of North Keeler Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 26-year-old man reported that as he was working on his car, a man got out of a car and struck him on the head and body with a baseball bat, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 3:20 a.m. Sunday, June 26, in the 4300 block of West Henderson Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 36-year-old man reported that a man displayed a handgun, punched him in the face and took his cell phone and his wallet containing $150, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, June 26, in the 4200 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 37-year-old man reported that he met a friend and that the man displayed a handgun and took $200 from him, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 4 p.m. Monday, June 27, in the 3100 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 59-year-old man reported that a man asked him for directions and money and that when he said that he didn’t have any, the man struck him on the back of the neck with a handgun, knocked him to the ground, took his wallet containing $50, kicked him and fled in a car with two other men, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that a man attempted to rob him at about midnight Sunday, June 26, in the 3200 block of West Eastwood Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 37-year-old man reported that a man demanded money and began feeling his back pocket for his wallet, then punched him in the face as he ran away, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that a man attempted to rob her at about 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, in the 4700 block of North Lawndale Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 43-year-old woman reported that a man told her that he lived in her building and that she let him in as she entered the building, according to police. The woman said that the man went upstairs and that as she was getting her mail, he returned, punched her in the face and attempted to take her purse, police said.
The woman reported that she struggled with the man out of the building and into the alley and that neighbors came to her aid and chased the man away, according to police. The woman was treated at Swedish Covenant Hospital for a possible broken nose and a broken toe, police said.
TWO MEN reported that a man broke into their home in the 3000 block of West Irving Park Road at about 9:35 a.m. Thursday, June 23, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 20-year-old man reported that a man with a gun entered the apartment and forced him to his knees, according to police. A 21-year-old man reported that he heard a commotion and left his bedroom and that when the man forced him to his knees his roommate ran out of the apartment and the man left without taking anything, police said.
A MAN WAS arrested on a gun charge at about 4:15 p.m. Monday, June 20, in the 4000 block of North Hamlin Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Officers responding to a report of a stabbing saw a man running holding his waistband and break a fence, according to police. The man was detained and told officers where he had placed a 9mm handgun under a porch, police said.
The subject was identified by police as Alex Lopez, age 23, of the 3800 block of West School Street.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN REPORTED that a catalytic converter was stolen from his van between 11:30 p.m. Monday, June 20, and 7 a.m. the following day, while it was parked in the 6700 block of North Lawndale Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
A WOMAN reported that she discovered a BB pellet in the window of her home in the 6500 block of North Kimball Avenue at about 5:15 a.m. Thursday, June 23, according to Lincolnwood police.
A WOMAN was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 8:25 p.m. Saturday, June 25, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman take items to the fitting room and then leave the store and discovered that the woman had concealed clothing and electronics valued at $159 in her purse, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Tracy Lynn Ratliff, age 39, of the 6800 block of North Kedzie Avenue.
