SHOTS were fired at about 1 a.m. Sunday, July 14, in the 3300 block of West Wilson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A woman reported that she saw a man standing by a vehicle who started shooting at a woman who was sitting on a front porch and left a bag behind as she fled, according to police. Officers recovered two spent bullet casings and called in fire department personnel after discovering that a bullet struck a resident’s gas meter, but no injuries were reported, police said.
SHOTS were fired at about 1 a.m. Friday, July 12, in the 4400 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 50-year-old woman reported that she was standing outside of David’s Food & Liquor store, 3158 W. Montrose Ave., when she saw that a man from a black car with tinted windows facing south on Kedzie fired a gunshot and fled east on Montrose, according to police. Officers recovered a spent .45-caliber bullet casing from the street, police said.
SHOTS were fired at about 7:40 a.m. Saturday, July 13, in the 3000 block of West Grace Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 49-year-old woman reported that she heard three popping noises and then saw a white vehicle with a sunroof speeding west on Grace, according to police. Officers recovered two spent 9mm bullet casings from the street, police said.
A TEENAGER was arrested for allegedly possessing a handgun and a synthetic drug following a gang-related disturbance at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday, July 14, in the 4800 block of North Drake Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Officers responded to multiple calls of a group of teenagers who exited a gray sedan at Drake Avenue and Ainslie Street and began shouting gang slogans on the corner, and officers detained and arrested a teenager who was seen running south from the group and tossing a loaded .22-caliber revolver onto the ground, according to police.
The teen reported that it was the one-year anniversary of his friend’s death and that he is a gang member, and officers searched the teen and additionally found a pill suspected of being Xanax, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as a 17-year-old male.
A MAN WAS arrested on gun and weapons charges at about 8:40 a.m. Sunday, July 14, in the 3500 block of West Berteau Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle and detained two male occupants and discovered that the driver had a suspended driver’s license and searched the car to find two rounds of ammunition in the glove compartment and three plastic bags containing about 65 grams of a substance suspected of being marijuana, and the driver was arrested while the passenger was released, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Joe A. Moya, age 26, of the 5400 block of North Kimball Avenue. The man was also charged with assault stemming from a previous incident, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 6:15 a.m. Saturday, July 13, in the 4800 block of North Springfield Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 20-year-old man reported that he was walking to his girlfriend’s parked Honda Fit when two men approached and asked to use his cellphone and when he gave it to them one man demanded car keys and pointed a handgun at him and the other man punched him in the face and they took his vehicle keys from his hand before he ran away south, according to police.
Both men were described as white/Hispanic and age 22 to 23. The armed man was further described as about 5-8 to 6-0, with a mustache and goatee, and wearing a black baseball cap and black jacket, and the other man as about 5-6 with a chubby build and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
A WOMAN reported that two men robbed her at about 1 p.m. Friday, July 12, outside of the Dollar Stop Plus store, 4445 N. Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 28-year-old woman reported that she was leaving the store with her children when an acquaintance and the acquaintance’s sister grabbed her hair, punched her and took a gold chain with a name plate valued at $500 from her neck, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested for allegedly robbing a man at knifepoint at about 6 a.m. Monday, July 8, on a train near the CTA Irving Park Blue Line station, 4131 W. Irving Park Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 35-year-old man reported that he fell asleep on the train and awoke to a man who pointed a knife at him and demanded his phone, and that after he handed over his phone the armed man moved to another train car and then exited the train at the Irving Park stop and notified authorities of the incident, according to police.
Later that day officers detained a man fitting the description in the 100 block of West Lake Street, who was arrested after he was identified, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Larry A. Brent, age 49, of the 400 block of North Saint Louis Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 4900 block of North Springfield Avenue was burglarized between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, July 13, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that his rear door was broken and that a handbag, two earrings and $120 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home in the 3300 block of North Troy Street was burglarized between 10 p.m. Sunday, July 14, and 6:15 a.m. Monday, July 15, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned to his garage he discovered that about 30 power and hand tools valued at $1,000 were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his garage in the 6100 block of North Christiana Avenue was burglarized between 9 p.m. Saturday, July 13, and 9 a.m. Sunday, July 14, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned to the garage he discovered that his parked 2016 Mercedes-Benz E Class sedan was searched and that a checkbook and phone cables were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD REPORTS 7-20-19
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a crash at about 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 12, in the 3900 block of West Devon Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident between a Jeep Cherokee sport utility vehicle and a Toyota Tundra truck and officers recovered 12 empty cans of beer and seven unopened beer cans from the Toyota and arrested the driver after he failed sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Maciej Jadeczko, age 39, of the first block of Forest Lane, Elk Grove Village.
A WOMAN reported theft from her porch in the 3400 block of West Albion Avenue between 1:40 p.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that when she went to retrieve a package she discovered that the box was opened from the bottom, and that a smart plug electrical device valued at $25 was missing, according to police.
