A WOMAN reported that she was attacked at her home in the Albany Park area between 11 a.m. and noon Tuesday, Aug. 15, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 20-year-old woman reported that she went to her porch to leave shoes to dry and when she turned around she saw a man standing in her kitchen doorway, according to police. The woman reported that the man grabbed and punched her repeatedly before pulling a pocketknife out and slashing her multiple times on the left forearm, right wrist and the back, police said.
The woman reported that the man waited for her to bleed and took photos on his cell phone, relating that he was sending pictures to another man who paid him in order to keep her ex-boyfriend away from her, police said. The woman reported that the man taped her wrists together before leaving and that she freed herself by rubbing her wrists on the corner of the wall, according to police. The woman reported that she requested an Uber to take her to Swedish Covenant Hospital, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that three men attempted to rob him at about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, in the 2800 block of West Cullom Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 37-year-old man reported that as he was walking a car pulled into an alley and two men exited and approached him, according to police. The man reported that one man pointed a handgun at him and demanded his belongings, police said. The man reported that he screamed for help and ran south on Francisco Avenue and that the two men chased him but eventually stopped, according to police.
One of the men was described as white/Hispanic, age 20 to 25, 5-7 to 5-9 and 180 to 200 pounds, and wearing a Puerto Rican flag bandana and gray sweatpants. The second man was described as white/Hispanic and wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt. The third man was described as white/Hispanic.
A REALTOR reported that a home in the 4000 block of West Patterson Avenue was burglarized at about 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he was showing the house while the two residents were on vacation he discovered that the rear door has been forced open, according to police. The owners reported that that they discovered house keys and prescription pills were missing, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 5:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, in the 3400 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 20-year-old man reported that he was sitting in his vehicle and a man approached the car and demanded money, took $40 in cash and punched him in the left arm, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, in the 4700 block of North Bernard Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 41-year-old man reported he was on the sidewalk when the two men punched him and took his phone, according to police. The man was treated at Swedish Covenant Hospital, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 11:35 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, in 3100 block of West Argyle Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 34-year-old man reported that as he was walking three approached him from behind, demanded his belongings and took his backpack containing work papers, a phone valued at about $600, a pair of headphones valued at about $100, and a wallet containing credit cards and $100 in cash, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, in the 4900 block of North Kenneth Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 49-year-old man reported that when he was walking home his 55-year-old brother argued with him, showed him a gun in his waistband, demanded money and took $1,200 in cash, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3500 block of West Lawrence Avenue was burglarized between 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, and 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the back door had been forced open and that several tools and a nitrogen tank were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that three men broke into his home in the 4100 block of West Cornelia Avenue and attacked him at about 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 20-year-old man reported that he heard the sound of glass breaking and when he went to investigate he discovered that three men wearing bandanas covering their faces where in his home and one of them was unhooking a Plays Station 4 video game console from the television set, according to police. The man reported that when he confronted the men the men punched and kicked him and fled with the console, police said.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 12:25 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, in the 6900 block of North Cicero Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer on patrol saw two vehicles racing and speeding at 60 miles per hour in a 40 miles per hour zone and he followed a black Dodge Challenger while the other car ran away, according to police. When the officer was behind the car at Pratt Avenue the car sped off when the light turned green and the car turned onto Albion Avenue where it was stopped, police said. The officer smelled a strong odor of alcohol on the man’s breath and the man was arrested after he failed sobriety tests, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Boris Tomacic, age 55, of the 6400 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, Lincolnwood.
A WOMAN reported that three bicycles were stolen from the yard of her home in the 6900 block of North Kolmar Avenue between noon Friday, Aug. 4, and 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that she discovered that a red bicycle and two silver bicycles were stolen from the back yeard, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED his locker was burglarized at Planet Fitness, 6850 N. McCormick Blvd., between 4:55 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that when he returned to the locker he discovered that the lock was missing and that $425 in cash and a watch valued at about $100 were missing, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Carson Pirie Scott store at the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., was arrested for allegedly stealing $1,720 in cash at about 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, according to Lincolnwood police.
A security guard reported that she observed the woman on surveillance video stealing cash from various cash registers on Aug. 5, 7 and 8, and detained her on Aug 8 for police after finding $120 in cash in her possession, according to police.
Officers discovered that the woman allegedly accessed the registers on several occasions by entering her employee and social security numbers to create fake cash transactions, then voiding out the transactions and taking the cash, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Simbiat O. Lugboso, age 19, of the 800 block of West Grace Street.
