Local Crime from 17th District 8-2-14
A MAN WAS stabbed and his two companions reported that they were attacked in an apparent gang related-incident that occurred at about 10:55 p.m. Saturday, July 30, in the 4800 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 21-year-old man reported that as he was walking with two other men, a group of men asked him for a cigarette, according to police. The man said that he told the men that he had only one cigarette and that they asked his gang affiliation and then attacked the three of them, police said.
An 18-year-old man was stabbed twice in the back, once in the left arm and once in the left leg, and he was admitted to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, according to police. The 21-year-old man was treated at Swedish Covenant Hospital for a head wound, and their 18-year-old companion declined medical treatment, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that a man threatened him with a gun at about 11:35 p.m. Thursday, July 28, in the 4300 block of North Sacramento Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 38-year-old man reported as he was walking his dog, he got into an argument with a man who was walking two dogs without a leash and the man pointed a gun at him, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that a man threatened her with a board at about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, in the 3200 block of North Kildare Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 33-year-old woman reported that she could not back out of her driveway because a vehicle with a flat tire was blocking it, and that when she asked the man to move the car he grabbed a board from the back seat of the car and threatened to hit her and burn down her house, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that two men threatened him at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, in the 3600 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 57-year-old man reported that a maroon van forced him off the road and that when he got out of his car, one of the men picked up a hammer and threatened him, according to police.
TWO WOMEN were shot with a BB pellets on Friday, July 29, in the 4000 block of North Keystone Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 29-year-old woman reported that she was shot in the leg with a BB at about 4 p.m., and a 32-year-old woman reported that she was shot in the leg with a BB at about 7 p.m. in the same block of Keystone, according to police. The women both were treated at Swedish Covenant Hospital, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 11:40 p.m. Monday, July 25, in the 4500 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 29-year-old man reported that two men and two women demanded money and his cell phone, and that when he gave them the phone, the men attacked him with baseball bats, according to police. The man was treated at Swedish Covenant Hospital, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was stabbed during a robbery at about 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, in the 3600 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 18-year-old man reported that three men stopped him and demanded his belongings and that when he resisted, he was stabbed in the left forearm, according to police. The man said that the men took his cell phone and that he drove himself to Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center for treatment, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that two men attempted to rob him at about 4:45 p.m. Thursday, July 28, in the 4300 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 35-year-old man reported that as he was stopped at a red light, a man broke the driver’s-side window, and that when he got out of his car, two men demanded his money and punched and kicked him but that he fought them off, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 11:50 p.m. Saturday, July 30, in an alley in the 4500 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 28-year-old man reported that a man pointed a gun at him, elbowed him in the face and took his cell phone, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5400 block of North Kimball Avenue was burglarized between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday, July 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that jewelry valued at $20,000 and $1,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
A woman who lives in the basement apartment reported that a handbag valued at $200, 10 video games valued at $500 and $2,650 in cash were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN REPORTED that a storage shed at his home in the 6400 block of North Christiana Avenue was burglarized between midnight Tuesday, July 26, and 8:20 p.m. Friday, July 28, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that he discovered that a lock had been broken and that a bicycle valued at $1,000 and a dirt bike valued at $600 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that the garage of her home in the 6500 block of North Trumbull Avenue was burglarized between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, July 27, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that she discovered that the garage door was open and that a Trek bicycle was missing, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Journey’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., reported that two men took her cell phone at about 3:35 p.m. Friday, July 28, according to Lincolnwood police.
The 21-year-old woman reported that two men asked to try on shoes and that she left her phone unattended to find a shoe they requested, according to police. The woman said that when she returned the phone valued at $600 was missing, according to police.
A WOMAN was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 2 p.m. Friday, July 28, at according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman place items valued at $67.99 in her purse and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Magdalena Eloisa, age 23, of the 3900 block of North Clarendon Avenue.
A WOMAN was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 21, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman take a nightgown, a candle holder and a wallet valued at $118 into the fitting rooms and leave the store with the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Maria Duran, age 36, of the 1900 block of West Summerdale Avenue.
A MAN WAS arrested on drug charges at about 5 p.m. Monday, July 25, in the 3400 block of West Touhy Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a vehicle that was being driven with expired license plates, and the driver was arrested for having no insurance and after two bags of marijuana were discovered in the car, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Raul A. Hernandez, age 25, of the 8700 block of North Crawford Avenue.
AN EMPLOYEE of Capitol Cement reported that a construction storage trailer was stolen between 4 p.m. Friday, July 22, and 8 a.m. the following day while it was parked in the 3900 block of West Jarvis Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
