Local Crime from 17th District 8-31-13
FOUR PEOPLE were arrested on aggravated assault charges following an incident at about 3:55 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, in the 3200 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 20-year-old man reported that a passenger in a passing car pointed a gun at him, and when officers attempted to stop a vehicle that matched the description that was provided, the driver fled, according to police. The occupants of the vehicle were arrested after it crashed, police said.
The suspects were identified by police as Jorge Rosario, age 33, of the 2500 block of North Pulaski Road, Jessica Rodriguez, age 28, of the 2100 block of North Kostner Avenue, Efrain Sotelo, age 23, of the 3200 block of West Arthington Street, and Alexander Rivas, age 22, of the 4800 block of West Barry Avenue.
TWO MEN reported that a man threatened them with a gun at about 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Gompers Park, 4222 W. Foster St., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 21-year-old men reported that as they were fishing in the park, a group of men confronted them and one of the men displayed a gun, threatened to shoot them, and ordered them to leave the park, according to police.
One of the men was described as black, age 25 to 26, 6-2 and 165 pounds, and wearing a white shirt, white and black gym shoes, a skullcap and a baseball cap.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, in the 4000 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 39-year-old man reported that after he left a bar, a man grabbed him, struck him in the face with an unknown object and took his cell phone and his wallet, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was the victim of a carjacking at about 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, in the 3600 block of North Harding Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 59-year-old man reported that as he was parking his 2005 Subaru Legacy, a man approached, displayed a knife, entered the vehicle, took $60 from his wallet, ordered him to get out of the vehicle and drove away in the car, according to police.
The man was described as black, age 28 to 33, 5-9 and 165 pounds, and wearing a green T-shirt and green pants.
A MAN AND A WOMAN reported that they were robbed and that their vehicle was stolen at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the 6100 block of North Lincoln Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 28-year-old man and the 19-year-old woman reported that they went to meet a man to purchase marijuana near the Rio Motel, and that two men approached and ordered them out of the car, according to police. The two said that one of the men displayed a gun and took $200 in cash and a cell phone from them and that the two drove away in their 2008 Dodge Avenger, police said. The men were driven to the parking lot by a woman, police said.
One of the men was described as black, age 28, 5-11 and 160 pounds. The other man was described as black and age 28 to 30, 5-7 and 180 pounds. The woman was described as black and age 25 to 30.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the 4100 block of West Peterson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 22-year-old woman reported that two men approached her and that one of them displayed a gun, took her purse containing her wallet and her cell phone valued at $800 and fled to a car, according to police.
One of the men was described as black, age 18 to 25, 6-0 and 200 pounds, and wearing a green camouflage hooded sweatshirt. The other man was described as white, age 18 to 25, 6-0 and 185 pounds, and wearing a blue baseball hat and white shorts.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, in the 4700 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 21-year-old man reported that a woman asked him for directions and that a man grabbed him and took his cell phone and the two fled in a car driven by a man, according to police.
The woman was described as white/Hispanic, age 24 to 26, 5-0 and 130 pounds, and wearing a gray T-shirt. The man was described as white/Hispanic, age 24 to 26, 5-10 and 180 pounds, and wearing a white tank top and blue shorts.
A MAN WAS arrested on robbery charges at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Chicago Transit Authority Kedzie Brown Line station, 4648 N. Kedzie Ave., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 20-year-old woman reported that a man who entered the train at the Francisco stop grabbed her cell phone and that as they struggled she was knocked to the floor, according to police. The woman said that she shouted that she was being robbed and that when the man left the train at the Kedzie stop, two men caught him and detained him, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Eddie Reeger, age 23, of the 7900 block of South Coles Avenue.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 6200 block of North Kildare Avenue was burglarized between 11:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the rear door was open and that two diamond rings valued at $4,000, two laptop computers valued at $3,300, a 42-inch television set valued at $1,200, an iPod valued at $200 and a Play Station 3 video game console valued at $300 were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5800 block of North Forest Glen Avenue was burglarized between 6:50 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear door had been forced open and that a necklace, a gold diamond ring, a bracelet and a diamond necklace were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4100 block of West Glenlake Avenue was burglarized between 2:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was open and that two silver earrings, two wrist watches and two gold chains and a gold band with a diamond were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3700 block of West Eastwood Avenue was burglarized between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the kitchen window air conditioning unit had been pushed in and that a Play Station 3 video game console, 10 video games and a laptop computer were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4000 block of North Kedvale Avenue was burglarized between 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, and 1:30 a.m. the following day, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a window was open and that a 32-inch television set valued at $800, a digital video disc player valued at $100, a digital converter box valued at $40, five gold rings, two earrings and a gold necklace were missing, according to police.
Lincolnwood
A WOMAN reported that a man took a bicycle from the yard of her home in the 3900 block of North Greenleaf Avenue at about 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that she saw a man enter her back yard, take a bicycle and ride to a second bicycle which he got on, pulling the stolen bike next to him, according to police. The woman said that she chased the man with in her car until he dropped the bike at Fitch and Prairie avenues, police said.
The man was described as Hispanic and age 18 to 22, with a thin mustache and wearing a sleeveless T-shirt and blue pants.
AN EMPLOYEE that a man and a woman stole merchandise from the Best Buy Mobile store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, according to Lincolnwood police.
The employee reported that the man opened the packaging of two iPods valued at $199 and that the woman placed them and a cell phone valued at $49 in her purse and the two leave the store, according to police.
The man was described as black, age 20 to 25, 5-7 and 150 pounds. The woman was described as black and age 18 to 24.
A MAN REPORTED that copper wire was stolen from seven trucks at the Commonwealth Edison station, 4402 W. Devon Ave., between 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, and 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26,
The man reported that he discovered that about $10,000 worth of copper wire was missing, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that Miska’s Keystone Liquors, 6423 N. Cicero Ave., was burglarized between 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, and 9 a.m. the following day, according to Lincolnwood police.
The employee reported that when he arrived at the business he discovered that the front window was broken and that about $5,000 in cash was missing from a safe, according to police.
