Local Crime from 17th District 9-23-17
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed and that his car was stolen at about 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, in the 4800 block of North Elston Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 60-year-old man reported that he was driving when a man entered the street and waved as if an emergency had occurred, and that when he stopped the vehicle a second man approached with a handgun, ordered him out of the car, and that both men then entered and drove away, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, in the 3000 block of West Gunnison Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 26-year-old man reported that a man approached asking for a cigarette, and another man pointed gun at him, took his car keys, cell phone and a wallet containing debit cards, a driver’s license and a foreign consulate card, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 1 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, in the 4100 block of West Berteau Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 28-year-old man reported that three men approached him from behind, one with a black handgun and face covered by a white T-shirt, and demanded money, and took his cell phone and wallet containing a debit card, driver’s license and various papers before fleeing in a black sport utility vehicle driven by a fourth man, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, in the 3300 block of West Ainslie Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 42-year-old man reported that he was walking when a man pointed a gun and demanded his wallet, and gave the wallet containing a drivers license, a Mexican identification card, and $300 in cash, and that the man fled in a dark Toyota Camry driven by another man, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, in the 5400 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 37-year-old woman reported that she was walking when a man hit her in the back of the head with an unknown object, threw her to the ground, took her bag containing house and car keys, clothes, and a wallet with a drivers license, according to police. The woman was treated Swedish Covenant Hospital, police said.
A WOMAN reported that a man threatened to stab her at about 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Easy Clean Coin Laundry, 4248 N. Kedzie Ave., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 51-year-old woman reported that she told a man not to smoke cigarettes in her business and that the man pointed a knife at her she sprayed the man with a chemical spray, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 10:45 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, in the 3400 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 66-year-old man reported that he pulled his car over due to a flat tire when a man approached offering to help, and that he removed a bag from his shoulder bag containing passports and green cards, medical cards and documents, and about $1,200 in cash, and that the man then pushed him to the ground and fled on foot with the bag, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6300 block of North Keating Avenue was burglarized between 3 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that front door had been damaged and that a gold ring valued at $200, four children’s rings valued at $100 each, two silver leg bracelets valued at $100 each, and $200 in cash were missing, according to police.
THREE PEOPLE were arrested on aggravated assault charges at about 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, in the 4700 block of North Hamlin Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Officers responded to a call of gunshots fired in the 3600 block of West Leland Avenue, and saw a fight between at least three people who ran away, according to police. Officers said that during the foot chase at least one man allegedly pointed a firearm at them and that they allegedly fired their guns, and that men were arrested, police said.
The suspects were identified by police as Erik Gomez, age 20, of the 4600 block of North Monticello Avenue and as a 15 and 16-year-old males.
