Local Crime from 17th District 9-7-19
A MAN REPORTED that his vehicle was stolen at gunpoint at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, in the 3900 block of North Keeler Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 33-year-old man reported that he left his silver 2002 Isuzu Rodeo sport utility vehicle on while delivering newspapers when a black sport utility vehicle with three male occupants drove up from behind and two men exited and one pointed a handgun, shouting gang affiliation and demanding his vehicle, and that the two men took his car and drove away with the third man behind in the black SUV, according to police.
Two of the men were described as white/Hispanic and age 25 to 30.
A MAN REPORTED that his vehicle was stolen at gunpoint at about 6:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, in the 5700 block of North Christiana Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 45-year-old man reported that he was driving his 2015 Subaru Forester sport utility vehicle when he noticed an older-model black Jeep Cherokee SUV speeding behind him and he pulled over to let the Jeep pass when a man exited the car, pointed a revolver and ordered him out of his vehicle, and that as he exited the man struck him in the head and drove away in his car, according to police.
The armed man was described as black, age 20 to 29, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Boost Mobile store, 3224 N. Kimball Ave., reported that the business was robbed at gunpoint at about 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employee reported that two men entered the store and one man pointed a silver handgun at him and demanded all the iPhones and cash, and the two men took $300 to $400 in cash and fled, according to police.
Both men were described as black, age 20 to 30, and wearing black hooded sweatshirts.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at gunpoint at about 1 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, in the 4200 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 32-year-old woman reported that she was walking home when a light-colored sedan drove up and a man exited, pointed a handgun, demanded her purse and ordered her to get on the ground, and took her purse containing an iPhone and $50 in cash, according to police.
The man was described as about 5-7, 140 to 160 pounds.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 12:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2, in an alley of the 5000 block of North Spaulding Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 55-year-old man reported that he was sitting in his vehicle when a group of three men and a woman approached, punched him in the stomach and took his cellphone valued at about $500, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 12:40 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, in the 3600 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 50-year-old man reported that he was riding his bicycle when a man approached and punched him in the face to knock him off the bike and a woman grabbed his red bag containing his black cellphone and a coin purse with $5 in cash, and that the man threatened to kill him and he ran away to the police station, according to police.
The man was described as white, age 25 to 30, 5-10 to 6-0 and 190 to 200 pounds, with brown eyes and medium-length black hair. The woman was described as white/Hispanic, age 47, 5-8 and 120 pounds, with brown eyes and short black hair.
A MAN REPORTED that a man broke into his vehicle and sprayed him with a chemical spray at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, in an alley of the 4100 block of West Cornelia Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 48-year-old man reported that he went to close his garage door when he saw a man looking into his parked vehicle, and that as he confronted him they began to shove each other and he chased the man west through the alley when the man turned around and sprayed him with a chemical pepper spray, according to police.
The man was described as white, age 35 to 40, 5-7 to 5-8, about 150 pounds, bald, and wearing a gray shirt, gray cargo pants and a gray backpack.
A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 4100 block of North Francisco Avenue was burglarized between 1 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear kitchen door was opened and that about $100 worth of costume jewelry, $400 in cash and about 400 Euros were missing, according to police.
