Local Crime from 16th District 6-15-2016
TWO MEN were arrested after shots were fired during a funeral procession for a gang member at about 11:05 a.m. Thursday, June 9, at Mount Olive Cemetery, 3800 N. Narragansett Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers who responded to numerous reports of shots fired in the cemetery discovered shell and saw a man park a car away from the funeral procession and join the group, according to police. Officers discovered a gun in the man’s vehicle, and he was arrested, police said.
The suspect was identified police as Javier Pascasio, age 24, of the 2100 block of North Leclaire Avenue.
A second man was arrested at about 11:25 a.m. the same day after officers saw a man attempting to retrieve an envelope from under a car and discovered that the envelope contained bullets, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Isai E. Rivera, age 24, of the 5200 block of West Lake Street.
EMPLOYEES reported that the Chase Bank, 5352 N. Elston Ave., was robbed at about 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
An employee reported that a man handed her a note demanding money and threatening to hurt other people and she handed him $1,000 in cash, according to police.
OFFICERS saw a man fire a gun at about 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, in the 3200 block of North Cicero Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers who responded to a report of shots fired saw a man running with his shirt pulled over his face firing a gun into moving traffic, according to police. Officers discovered eight shell casings at the scene, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that two men threatened him at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, in the 6100 block of North Indian Road, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 44-year-old man reported that he was in front of his home and that a vehicle containing two men drove by and the men shouted that they were going to kill him and pointed a gun at him, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a knife at about 8 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at a home in the 6700 block of North Central Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 44-year-old woman reported that during an argument the man held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Sebastian Crisan, age 46, of the 6700 block of North Sauganash Avenue.
A WOMAN reported that a man exposed himself at about 1 a.m. Sunday, June 12, in the 3700 block of North Odell Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 21-year-old woman reported that a man called approached her and began masturbating, according to police.
The man was described as white, age 23 to 27, 5-9 and 135 pounds.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 7600 block of West Addison Street was burglarized at about 4 p.m. Sunday, June 12, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she discovered that $580 in cash, a checkbook, a social security card and three sets of keys were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5600 block of North Newport Avenue was burglarized at about 2 a.m. Monday, June 13, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the basement door was open and that two tablets valued at $750, an Xbox video game console valued at $450, two pairs of jeans valued at $400 and a cell phone valued at $500 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her rental car was burglarized between 7 p.m. Saturday, June 11, and 12:10 a.m. the following day, while it was parked in the 6500 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she discovered that the passenger side window of the 2016 Chrysler was broken and that an iPod valued at $700, a laptop computer valued at $800, a bag valued at $100 and a purse containing a drive’s license and two credit cards were missing, according to police.
THEFTS of catalytic converters from vehicles were reported between June 10 and June 12, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Thefts were reported in the 5700 block of North Mango Avenue, the 7400 block of West Gregory Street and the 4900 block of West Warwick Avenue, according to police.
