Man Charged in hit and run
A Northwest Side man has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run accident in which a pedestrian was seriously injured at about 7 p.m. Saturday, March 29, in the 5800 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, according to the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs.
The man was arrested after he was identified as driver of a black car that struck a 50-year-old woman, according to police. The woman was admitted to Lutheran General Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The man faces felony counts of failure to report an accident with an injury, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol in an accident with bodily harm and driving under the influence with a revoked license. He also faces misdemeanor counts of failure to render aid and operating a vehicle without insurance and one municipal count of negligent driving.
The suspect was identified by police as Ciprian Tanase, age 34, of the 5200 block of West Foster Avenue.
