Man reportedly shot 4 times at massage business on Chicago’s NW Side; employee reports being assaulted at gunpoint

A man was shot at about 3 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, at a massage establishment/spa at 3922 W. Irving Park Road, and an employee reported that the shooter sexually assaulted her during the incident, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Officers responded to a call of a person shot and found a
44-year-old man on the ground with four gunshot wounds to his left leg, according to police.
Officers applied a tourniquet to the man’s leg and he was transported in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.
Officers located a blood trail that led to a massage parlor and an employee let them in the business and reported that the offender began knocking on the window and wanted a massage, according to police. The employee reported that the gunman forced the door open and assaulted her at gunpoint, police said.
The employee also reported that the 44-year-old man exited a room and the offender shot him according to police. Officers recovered 3 spent shell casings and a bullet fragment from inside the business and noted that there were multiple puddles of blood on the floor, police said. The employee also told officers that the offender fled west on Irving Park on foot, according to police.
The employee reported that the offender left behind a pair of boxer briefs and a black ski mask, according to police.
The assailant was described as Black and 5-4 to 5-7, with short hair, according to police.
The employee was transported to an area hospital, police said.
Responding officers also noted that there were several video cameras inside the business, police said.
UPDATE: A city Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection spokesperson issued the following statement:
“D & B Health Spa, located at 3922 W. Irving Park Road does not have a current business license and no enforcement actions have been issued.”
