Paint ball gun attacks reported in Portage, Jefferson Park area on Chicago’s NW Side

A teenager reported that someone shot him with a paint ball gun at about 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, while he was walking through an alley of the 5700 block of West Warwick Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

The teen reported that he was walking home from school when he felt three shots hit his upper right back, according to police.

The teen reported that he looked at his shirt, saw green paint and realized he had been shot with a paint ball so he fled east in the alley and hid behind a trash can, police said. The teen reported that he saw the occupants of a silver Toyota sport utility vehicle as they rolled up their windows and fled south on Menard, according to police.

The occupants were described as age 16 or older.

Meanwhile, a man reported that someone shot him with a paint ball gun at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, while he was riding his bicycle in the 4800 block of North Austin Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

The 26-year-old man reported that he was riding south on Austin when a vehicle drove beside him and an occupant fired several shots that struck the right side of his body, according to police.

In addition, a teenager reported that someone shot him several times with a paint ball gun at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, while he was walking in the 4100 block of North Austin Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

The 17-year-old teen reported that he was walking home from school when a vehicle passed him and he heard sounds come from the vehicle, according to police. The teenager reported that he felt something strike his face and left arm, then discovered paint where he was struck, police said. The teen reported that the driver of the vehicle fled east on Berteau, according to police. Descriptions of the shooter and vehicle were not provided.
