A revised proposal to build a Panda Express with a drive-through facility at 4130 N. Cicero Ave. in the Six Corners commercial district is being resurrected from 2021, when residents rejected the plan.

Alderman James Gardiner (45th) is scheduled to hold a community meeting on the revised proposal at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Saint John’s Lutheran Church, 4939 W. Montrose Ave. (enter Door 1).

The restaurant would be built on the current Bank of America site, where the bank’s walk-up facility closed years ago but drive-up ATMs remain operational. Under the proposal two drive-up ATMs would be situated along the north end of the lot.

An entrance to the lot would be located along Warner Avenue and an exit would be on Berteau Avenue. Plans call for extensive landscaping on the property.

In 2021 residents expressed traffic concerns about the project and complained about the garbage that existing fast-food restaurants generate in the neighborhood.

A special use from the Zoning Board of Appeals is required for the drive-through.

Also at the meeting, a proposal for a landscaper to operate at 4242 N. Cicero Ave. is set to be discussed.
