Regus Office Space opens in Jefferson Park, offering flexibility to businesses

by BRIAN NADIG
The recently opened Regus Office Space at 4849 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Jefferson Park allows businesses to quickly move in and be up-and-running within minutes.
“From Day One, you can come in and start working” in a private office, said Regus franchise co-director Clayton Quasny, who operates the business along with his father Rodney Quasny. “It includes electricity, high-speed business-quality fiber internet … a desk, a chair and a filing cabinet.”
For many clients, plugging in a laptop is all it takes to be operational, and offering flexibility to clients is one of the keys to the success of Regus’ business model, they said.
Space can be leased by the hour — staring at $16 — or by the month — starting at around $400. The 62 private offices range from 60 to 185 square feet, and there’s also a shared kitchen, a conference room and co-working desk spaces, which under a membership plan can be reserved at Regus locations around the country.
There also are specially designed “sit-stand desks” which give workers the ability to stand at a desk if their back is bothering them or they have some other discomfort.
Clayton said that several factors led to the decision to open a Regus franchise in the 10-story Veterans Square office tower, where it occupies the entire, recently renovated seventh floor.
“There are not a lot of views like this around here,” he said, adding that Downtown Chicago is visible. “We like the neighborhood, and we like to support it.”
Rodney noted that the proximity to the Jefferson Park Transit Center, 4917 N. Milwaukee Ave., with access to trains and buses, is a big plus, and for those clients with a car, parking options are available at Veterans Square.
The Jefferson Park Chamber of Commerce will hold a general meeting at Regus at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, and it will include a ribbon-cutting with Alderman James Gardiner (45th). Following the meeting the chamber will hold its annual 9/11 ceremony at 11 a.m. at the war monument at Milwaukee and Higgins avenues.
