Robberies reported in Norwood Park, Portage Park on Chicago’s NW Side 

A woman reported that two men with a handgun attempted to rob her at about 7:35 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in the 5900 block of West Circle Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

The woman reported that while walking two men approached her and one of the men pointed a handgun at her head and demanded cash while the second man stood next to him, according to police.

The woman reported that the man with the handgun began patting her down when she dropped her cell phone to the ground, and the men suddenly fled west through the Old Norwood Park neighborhood, police said.
The woman reported that she was not injured and the men did not take anything before they fled, police said.

The two men were described as age 25 to 30 and 5-9, wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black face masks and black pants, police said.

A man reported that two men robbed him at about 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, while he was waiting at a CTA bus stop in the 4200 block of North Central Avenue in Portage Park, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

The 39-year-old man reported that he was waiting for the bus when a man approached him from behind and placed a hard object against his back, according to police.

The man reported that a second man approached him from the front, demanded his belongings and punched him in the head multiple times, causing him to collapse to the ground, police said. The man reported that when he fell, the man who struck him took his cell phone, shoes and wallet containing multiple IDs and $200 cash, police said. The man reported that the two men fled to a black Mercedes sedan, police said. The man reported that he walked home, and a neighbor called 9-1-1, police said.

The two men were described as Black, wearing black ski masks, black hooded sweatshirts and black pants, police said.
