Sewer main project to begin in Bryn Mawr Ave

A project to install a sewer main in Bryn Mawr Avenue from Kedzie Avenue to Saint Louis Avenue is expected to begin the week of Aug. 11, according to Alderman Margaret Laurino.

Portions of Bryn Mawr will be closed during four separate phases, and vehicles will not be allowed through the closed portions. Detours will be marked for each stage of work, and sidewalk access will be maintained for foot traffic and businesses along Bryn Mawr.

Certain areas along the route that are typically used for residential parking will instead be used as a staging area for materials and equipment. One-way streets may temporarily become two-way streets to give residents access to their property when intersections that normally provide access are closed, according to the alderman’s office.
