Shots fired outside Music Box Club

Shots were fired at about 3:20 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, outside of the Music Box Club, 6873 N. Milwaukee Ave., following a fight between multiple patrons inside the club, according to Niles police.
Witnesses reported that an altercation occurred between people inside the club in which a woman in her 20s suffered a cut to her leg, according to police. Following the scuffle, a man fired a small handgun about six times in the parking area outside toward the club before he ran away south on Milwaukee, according to police.
No injuries from the gunfire were reported, and the woman with the lacerated leg was treated and released at the scene but it was unclear how she was injured, police said. Milwaukee Avenue was shut down for about two hours, according to police.
The armed man was described as black and wearing a black jacket and hooded sweatshirt.
Niles detectives are still investigating the incident.
