Stolen car with guns, drugs reportedly recovered on Sunnyside in Jefferson Park
Two men were arrested after the reported stolen car they were riding in struck several parked vehicles at about 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the 5100 block of West Sunnyside Avenue in Jefferson Park, according to Chicago police.
A Toyota Camry reportedly was traveling at a high rate of speed, but it stopped after striking the parked vehicles, according to police. Four occupants fled on foot, and two were later taken into custody, police said.
A police vehicle was in the area, as an officer was issuing a parking citation at the time the Camry was traveling through the neighborhood, police said.
Narcotics, including suspected crack cocaine, and two guns allegedly were found in the Toyota, police said. The suspects were charged in connection with the incident, according to police, but additional details were not available.
