Street resurfacing projects begin

Work is under way on street resurfacing projects on Central Avenue and Irving Park Road, according to Alderman Timothy Cullerton’s office.
The Chicago Department of Transportation has announced that a project is under way on Central Avenue from Diversey Avenue to Berteau Avenue in the 38th Ward. The work includes milling and asphalt paving, striping and construction of bus pads. The work is expected to be completed by Dec. 15, weather permitting.
A project on Irving Park Road from Neenah Avenue to Austin Avenue includes sidewalk improvements, curb and gutter replacement, bus pad construction, milling, paving and striping. The curb and gutter work has begun, but paving of the road is expected later. The project is scheduled for completion by Dec. 5.
"No Parking" signs will be installed as required for each phase of the work. The signs will restrict parking during working hours.
Bigane Paving Company is the general contactor for the projects. and Wight and Company is proving engineering services to the transportation department.
