A man was charged with first degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a Harwood Heights man at about 5:15 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at the BP gas station, 6350 W. Montrose Ave., according to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The suspect was identified by the state’s attorney’s office as Florin Mulosmani, age 24, of the 1900 block of South Grove Avenue, Berwyn.

Officers who responded to a report of a person shot discovered a man with a gunshot wound to the head, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police. A 26-year-old witness reported that he was in the store with a 25-year-old friend buying cigarettes and that two men entered and demanded money from them, police said.

The witness reported that an argument ensued that turned violent and that one of the men pulled out a handgun and shot his friend in the head, according to police. An employee corroborated the witness’s story, police said.

The deceased man was identified by police as Damien Cionzynski, age 25, of the 4400 block of North Nashville Avenue, Harwood Heights.
