The Copernicus Foundation will hold its 36th annual "Taste of Polonia" festival from Friday through Monday, Sept. 4 to 7, at the Copernicus Center, 5216 W. Lawrence Ave.
The hours of the festival are 5 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, noon to 12:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and noon to 10 p.m. Monday.
The festival will feature Polish food, imported beer, a marketplace, folk dancing, casino games and a carnival.
The entertainment lineup will feature performers on four stages, including Tony Blazonczyk’s New Phaze Band, Libido Funk Circus, Tributosaurus, Hudobni and Clodie-Krakow Sound on Sept. 4 and World’s Honkiest Polka Band, Jak Tripper, Planet Groove, Rico, Think Floyd, the D Street Band, Jimmy Killian’s Honky Chicago Band, X Beat, Clodie-Krakow Sound, De Mono and the Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra on Sept. 5.
The performers on Sept. 6 will be the Chicago Image, the Breakfast Club, the Modern Day Romeos, Hairbanger’s Ball, Kashmir, Pan Franek and the Polka Towners, Polkaholics, G.D. Hemmings and the Conkrete Band, Marika, the Gizzae Reggae Band and the Paderewski Choir.
The performers on Sept. 7 will be the Ampol Aires, Reely Dan, American English, Ear Candy, Gentlemen of Leisure, Take 5, Polka Generations, Playwood, Marika and DeMono.
Activities for children will include a children’s theater, dance and music workshops, inflatables, karate demonstrations, talent and games shows, and face painting.
The festival also will feature screenings of Polish movies.
Admission is $7 for adults and free for children age 12 and younger.
