TCF Bank in Jefferson Park robbed last week
A man was placed into custody after he allegedly robbed the TCF Bank, 4930 N. Milwaukee Ave., at about 11:27 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, according to the 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers responded to a call of a bank hold up alarm and employees reported that a man handed a teller a blank deposit slip and said, "Give me all the money!" and took $834 in cash and fled, according to police. The employee reported that the man never displayed a weapon but had his hands in his coat pocket implying that he had a gun, police said.
A tracking device was placed with the money and officers detained a man matching a description after he was stopped riding in a taxicab near Pulaski Road and Lake Street, according to police.
The man was placed into custody and taken to the bank where he was allegedly identified by bank employees, but the FBI has not released the man’s name or if he had been charged with the bank robbery, police said.
