Throwback Fest to bring Queen, Prince tributes to Milwaukee Ave

The Gladstone Park Chamber of Commerce will hold the fourth annual "Throwback Music Fest" from 4 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, in the 6000 and 6100 blocks of North Milwaukee Avenue.
The festival will feature live music from tribute and cover bands, a children’s area with inflatables and face painting, a pet parade with prizes for best costumes at 11 a.m. Saturday, a vintage car show all-day on Sunday, a Sept. 11 memorial ceremony at 11 a.m. Sunday, and a "Miss Throwback" pin-up contest beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday and continuing between music sets until 6 p.m., with prizes for the top three winners with the best hair, make up and attire from the 1940’s, 1950’s and early 1960’s. Pin-up contestants must be at least 18 years old and must sign up in advance online.
The Friday music lineup will include Cover Dogs at 5 p.m., One Way Street at 6:30 p.m. and Queen tribute band Queen Explosion at 8:30 p.m.
The Saturday music lineup will include One of the Boyzz at noon, Southern Draw at 3 p.m., Todd and the Ten Pins at 4:45 p.m., boy band tribute act Boy Band Review at 6:45 p.m., and Prince-tribute act Purple Experience at 8:45 p.m.
The Sunday music lineup will include the Flat Cats at 12:30 p.m., the Four Seasons tribute act the Four C Notes at 2:30 p.m., Chicago tribute band Chicago Tribute Anthology at 4:30 p.m., and 7th Heaven at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is $5. Proceeds support the chamber’s scholarship program.
