Two homicides reported in 16th Police District
A MAN WAS fatally shot at about 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in the 5100 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Emergency personnel responded to a call of a person shot in the chest and paramedics removed a man from a 2006 Dodge van that crashed into a parked vehicle with an attached trailer in the 3300 block of North LeClaire Avenue, according to police. Officers recovered three spent bullet casings at the intersection of Belmont and LeClaire avenues, police said.
The man was driving west on Belmont when he was shot and collided with the parked vehicle, and the man was transported to Community First Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at about 8:20 p.m., police said.
The man was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office as Paulino T. Ramirez, age 47, of the 1700 block of North Kedvale Avenue. The cause of death is a homicide, the examiner said.
A MAN WAS fatally wounded at about 3:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, in the 4000 block of North Narragansett Avenue, according to the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs.
A 29-year-old man was driving north when a man fired shots from a dark sport utility vehicle and he was shot in the left armpit, according to police.
The man was transported in critical condition to Illinois Masonic Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, police said. The man was identified by the examiner as Enrique Rivera, age 29, of Chicago. The incident has been classified as a homicide, the examiner said.
