Two teens arrested, gun and burglary tools recovered following foot pursuit in Gladstone Park on Chicago’s NW side

A 911 call of suspicious persons in the Gladstone Park area led to the arrest of two juveniles and the recovery of a gun at about 10:40 p.m. Thursday, July 23, in the 5700 block of North Melvina Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The caller reported that three individuals wearing ski masks and hooded sweatshirts were seen pacing up and down the street or sidewalk, according to police. Tactical and patrol officers responded to the area, and a foot pursuit started, police said.
Two males, 15 or 16 years old, were apprehended, and one gun and burglary tools were recovered, police said. It’s not clear if there was a third individual in the group, police said.
The timely 911 call played a crucial role in apprehending the suspects, police said.
