Father and baby carjacked at gunpoint in Jefferson Park
A man reported that he was carjacked at gunpoint while he was parked with his baby inside his car at about 3:40 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, in the 4400 block of North Meade Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 31-year-old man reported that he was parked in his black 2014 Jeep Compass with a "Baby on Board" sticker when a vehicle described as a black Dodge Caliber drove up and one of the four occupants of the car exited and pointed a gun to his head, demanded his vehicle and told him to "get out," according to police.
The man reported that he told the gunman that his 4-month old daughter was in the Jeep, and he was able to remove the baby out of the backseat before the man drove away in the car, police said. The man reported that baby clothes valued at $150, a wallet and a stroller were in the vehicle, according to police.
The armed man was described as white/Hispanic, age 18 to 22, 5-5 to 5-8, and 110 to 125 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair, a shaved hairstyle and light complexion, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a red and black bandana, and black pants. The three other men were described as white/Hispanic, police said.
